ETHERMA BRS – heating mat in concrete & rolled asphalt

BRS open area heating for installation in concrete and rolled asphalt is used to keep car park access ramps, emergency access routes, entrance areas, etc. free from snow and ice. The heating mats are laid on a load-bearing under-layer (concrete or asphalt) in accordance with a laying plan.

ETHERMA BRLH – CUSTOM-MADE HEATING LOOPS

The BRLH heating loop is suitable for free laying in curvatures, curves, and anywhere with demanding geometrical installation structures. The installation can be done in mastic asphalt, rolled asphalt, fluid concrete, site concrete, concrete monolith, in sand- and mortar beds and under cobble stone. The dipole heating conductor has an outer insulation that is very sturdy and impact resistant - even under heavy mechanical strain. Thanks to their resistance to UV, BRLH heating loops can also be used for gutter heating by simply laying them in metal gutters. The heat conductor and cold end are asphalt-compatible!

CASE STUDY

HOSPITAL HELICOPTER LANDING PAD, SALZBURG OPEN-AIR HEATING SYSTEM, NEW-BUILD

THE INITIAL SITUATION

As part of the new construction of the emergency wing of the Salzburg State Hospital, a new helicopter landing pad was built. In order to guarantee the safe operation and rapid and slip-free transport of patients in any weather, an open-air heating system was installed. 

THE ETHERMA SOLUTION

Landing pad heating poses particular high requirements. In this case, the ETHERMA open-air heating system needed to be laid as close as possible to the surface. For helicopter landing pads on which helicopters with grips on their landing rails will land, the heating mat must imperatively be installed in concrete with reinforcement grilles. A fully-automated control system with multiple measurement points ensures the safe operation of the equipment. In addition, the ditches and gutters were fitted with heating strips and the steps are heated with custom-made heating mats.
