On terraces in particular, you have a wide variety of options for mounting or using the heaters. You can mount most infrared heaters on either the ceiling or the wall, but thanks to special accessories, it is also possible to attach them to an awning or a railing. Not to mention recessed heaters and flexible freestanding heaters. Whether used as wall-mounted or ceiling-mounted heaters, patio heating takes up no space and can be ideally positioned above the area or people to be heated.
And dark-emitting heaters are particularly suitable for sheltered outdoor areas or as supplementary heating. Unlike light-emitting heaters (infrared heaters), these have a longer wavelength (between IR-A and IR-B) and therefore emit even less residual light (red light) (< 1 lux), which is particularly pleasant. Quartz heaters operate using medium-wave infrared radiation (IR-B) and are particularly suitable for use in commercial settings as hall heating systems.
PLEASANT WARMTH
Short-wave infrared radiation (IR-A), as its name suggests, penetrates the air very quickly due to its short wavelength - regardless of the air temperature - and heats everything within its range of action: people, objects or even walls. This explains why, in winter, we feel a pleasant warmth in the sunshine despite relatively low outside temperatures, or why we can even sit on the terrace of a mountain hut in just a jumper whilst skiing. This is because the sun is the largest source of infrared radiation. Infrared heaters make use of precisely this principle. Infrared radiation is perceived as particularly pleasant - as if the sun were kissing you.
Infrared radiation must not be confused with or equated to UV radiation. The latter is certainly harmful to humans. Infrared heat, on the other hand, has long been used in the healthcare sector, for example in infrared cabins or red light therapy.
