ETHERMA BRS – heating mat in concrete, grit and sand
The heating mat with a return conductor-heat conductor (dipole) and braided mesh is ideally suited for installation in concrete screeds, fluid concrete, concrete monolith, site concrete and even in 3 cm thick protective concrete, in rolled and mastic asphalt, sand- and mortar beds and under cobble stone. Thanks to its robust, impact-resistant design, the BRS heating mat can be used in areas subject to increased mechanical loads. The heat conductor is resistant to spherical acids, bases and faeces The joint cross web and only one access line simplify the installation of the heating mats.

HOSPITAL HELICOPTER LANDING PAD, SALZBURG OPEN-AIR HEATING SYSTEM, NEW-BUILD
THE INITIAL SITUATION
As part of the new construction of the emergency wing of the Salzburg State Hospital, a new helicopter landing pad was built. In order to guarantee the safe operation and rapid and slip-free transport of patients in any weather, an open-air heating system was installed.
THE ETHERMA SOLUTION
Landing pad heating poses particular high requirements. In this case, the ETHERMA open-air heating system needed to be laid as close as possible to the surface. For helicopter landing pads on which helicopters with grips on their landing rails will land, the heating mat must imperatively be installed in concrete with reinforcement grilles. A fully-automated control system with multiple measurement points ensures the safe operation of the equipment. In addition, the ditches and gutters were fitted with heating strips and the steps are heated with custom-made heating mats.
