CREATE SAFETY.
Icicles on gutters are nice to look at - but they pose a major hazard to passers-by and cars. During snowfalls and extended cold spells, gutters and downpipes are at risk from ice build-ups. The sun melts water, which cannot run off in already iced-up gutters. This causes the build-up of icicles. This can lead to downpipe bursts or permanent façade damage. Protect passers-by and your property with custom-planned gutter heating.
GREATER COMFORT – NO MORE WORRIES.
Did you know that as the home-owner, you are responsible for ensuring that icicles on your gutters pose no hazard to passers-by and cars? Gutter heating can relieve you of this worry. Once installed, you will no longer actually need to worry about it again - ETHERMA gutter heating is characterised by its particular durability, and is almost maintenance-free. We will be glad to help you with planning.
FAST DEFROSTING RESPONSE.
Gutters and downpipes must be kept free so that they can work properly. Dangers in these areas mostly comprise freezing condensation or large amounts of snow, which clog gutters and downpipes. The heating must therefore be designed in such a way that ice and snow melt away, rapidly and reliably. The only way to do this is to ensure the right output and a perfect control system. The ETHERMA planning team will configure the heating system to your specific requirements.
CUSTOM-PLANNED.
In order to prevent injury to persons or damage to buildings, gutters and downpipes - and even the canopies where necessary (from the last snow protection grille to the roof gutter) are heated with heating strips. This is custom-planned. The ETHERMA planning team will configure the heating system to your specific requirements. Combined with an intelligent control system, these will operate efficiently and safely.
GUTTERS.
Frozen condensation which cannot run off can cause severe damage to gutters, the backflow from which combined with the cold can lead to dangerous icicles and damage to buildings. ETHERMA gutter heating avoids these dangers - simply, and completely automatically.
DOWNPIPES.
Iced-up downpipes can not only damage your gutters, but also impact the building. Heating the downpipes down to a depth of 1 m below the ground surface (= the soil's frost limit) prevents this permanently and guarantees the smooth flow of melted water.
BOX GUTTERS.
Large amounts of snow often collect in large box gutters, after sliding down from the roof areas. In this case, damage to the building shell and structure is hindered by a rapid, safe defrosting response.
WHAT COSTS MUST I TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION?
The expected average operating hours for the gutter heating system are dependent inter alia on the location and weather, and are based on experience. Multiplying these by the installed output enables you to draw conclusions about the power consumption required. A calculation example based on a gutter heating system in a private space should provide an appropriate illustration of this:
